The 7 day diet is a fad diet that is not recommended by doctors. The basic elements of this diet are:

     Monday – eat all the fruits and vegetables you want, except bananas

     Tuesday – eat all the vegetables you want

     Wednesday – eat all the fruit and vegetables you want

     Thursday – eat 5 bananas and drink 5 glasses of milk

     Friday – eat 4 three-ounce steaks or chicken with vegetables

     Saturday – eat 4 three-ounce steaks

     Sunday – eat 4 three-ounce steaks with vegetables

 

According to the 7 day diet you are supposed to lose 14 pounds in one week. This diet allows people to indulge in certain foods on certain days. It claims to cleanse the body of toxins and result in rapid weight loss. The diet deals with extremes of foods on certain days. 

The 7 day diet does not provide you with well-balanced meals. Although it may lead to weight loss, it will lead to fatigue and weakness of the muscles. Although you do lose weight, you are actually losing water from your body and as soon as you start to eat on a regular basis, the weight will simply go back on. Because you need carbohydrates, proteins and fats in your diet, the muscles lose much of their water and become very weak. The reduced muscle mass will actually slow down your metabolism making it easier for you to gain back the weight and harder for you to lose it again.
